ARGENTINA: The footwear sector also urgently calls for the SME Emergency Law

On June 4, numerous chambers and organizations will meet to report on the status of the legislative project.

Different business chambers, production entities and organizations representing Argentina’s SME sector will hold a press conference next Thursday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m., at the Chamber of the Footwear Industry, located at Av. Rivadavia 4323, 2nd floor, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, to present the progress and parliamentary status of the SME Emergency Law.

The legislative initiative seeks to implement urgent measures to support production, employment and Argentina’s business network, in response to the deepening economic crisis affecting small and medium-sized enterprises throughout the country.

During the event, details will be provided on the legislative path of the project, the agreements reached among different sectors and the current situation of SMEs, in a context marked by the closure of thousands of companies, declining sales, rising costs, job losses and a contraction in productive activity.

The SME Emergency Law has been promoted in the National Congress through coordinated work among business chambers, national legislators and organizations representing the sector. In recent weeks, meetings were held in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate with the aim of unifying initiatives and consolidating a common proposal.

The project already has the support of national legislators and the backing of numerous business organizations from across the country.
