The European Union avoided cumulative tariffs

An executive order signed by Donald Trump introduced new tariffs on exports to the United States for shipments made after August 7.
The European Union was excluded from the cumulative tariff system: its products are subject to a fixed rate of 15%, without adding any previously applied duties. When the pre-existing tariff is lower, it is adjusted only to reach that percentage.
By contrast, shipments from countries such as Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Cambodia were subject to surcharges ranging from 19% to 25%, APICCAPS reported in early August.
