European project promotes footwear recycling

The European project RECYCLING SHOE began its activity with a proposal aimed at carrying out advanced training in recycling applied to the footwear sector.
Its objectives include the conception of a master’s degree focused on circular economy and recycling, as well as the incorporation of research, specific industry practices and European regulations.
The initiative brings together nine organizations from five countries —Germany, Portugal, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic— and started in São João da Madeira (Footwear Technology Centre of Portugal -CTCP) and in Porto (APICCAPS), in early February, CTCP reported.
