Istanbul, a strategic point as a bridge between Europe and Asia, for the international footwear industry.

The event will take place in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey with over 15 million inhabitants, a global center for trade and tourism, and at the same time a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia.

It will be held on November 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2023, at the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent, organized by the Footwear Industry Association (TASD) and the Footwear Industry Suppliers Association (AYSAD), both from Turkey, along with the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC).

The central theme of the 7th Congress will be "Reshaping the Future" of the footwear industry, where innovative strategies, trends, technological advancements, and sustainability issues will be scrutinized. All conferences and debates will be led by recognized professionals from the international sector.

In addition to the meeting's agenda, participants will have a gala dinner at the end of the first day and a tour of various footwear factories on the last day.

Turkey boasts a rich history as a global footwear manufacturer. In 2022, it produced 582 million pairs (6th largest producer worldwide), exported 378 million, and imported 44 million. Its annual consumption was 248 million pairs for a total population of 85 million inhabitants, according to World Footwear Yearbook data.

The World Footwear Congress will serve to discuss the rapid changes, challenges, and opportunities faced by this dynamic industry in the global economy. Furthermore, it will promote a free and fair market with equal opportunities for all on a reciprocal basis, while also enhancing international collaboration within the latest trends and drivers influencing the industry and society.

From a business perspective, the discussions will address how footwear companies can leverage the latest digitized innovations and new technologies to reshape their corporate strategies, increase transparency and collaboration, and attract younger generations to join the sector.

The Congress's proceeds will be dedicated to aiding footwear industry members affected by the February earthquake in rebuilding their businesses. This event will provide an opportunity to unite the industry's spirit of solidarity and collaboration to overcome challenges and look towards the future with hope.
