Technical criteria defined for barefoot footwear

The lack of agreed technical parameters in the barefoot footwear segment led to the development of the BareLast project, promoted by the Footwear Technology Centre (INESCOP).
The initiative scientifically analyzed 23 models, combining testing with participants and three-dimensional foot analysis, with the aim of establishing verifiable minimum requirements.
Based on these results, a specific certification label was created, intended to serve as a reference for both companies and consumers. Consumers will gain access to reliable information on barefoot footwear, while brands will benefit from institutional backing, the entity reported.
