After five years in command, José Monzonís -executive president of the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE)- will retire from the presidency next July. Until a new election act, the position will be held by an interim commission led by Marián Cano -first vice president of the entity and executive president of the Valencian Association of Footwear Entrepreneurs-.

“In these five years at the head of this national institution, I not only had the opportunity to recognize the value of the small and medium-sized Spanish family business, but to learn from the rigor, effort, creativity and professionalism of an entire Industry with which, to be sure, I will continue to be related in one way or another in this new professional stage that I am starting”, said Monzonís.

Going forward, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, the entity considers that the Spanish footwear industry should put more effort into digitization, creativity and sustainability. In addition, regarding the relationship with the consumer, companies will have to demonstrate their values and offer them greater satisfaction in the experiences, services and personalization of the products, as reported from FICE.
