Footwear manufacturers seek greater presence in major retail chains

In order to increase the share of domestically manufactured footwear in large stores, leaders from the footwear and leather sectors have initiated discussions with the National Association of Self-Service and Department Stores (ANTAD) to encourage consumption of Mexican-made products.
This initiative aligns with the Secretariat of Economy’s “Made in Mexico” program, which aims to establish a baseline for local product consumption, according to reporting from El Sol de León.
The agreement between sectors positively contributes to industry development, greater job creation and increased consumer demand, according to statements by Fernando Padilla Padilla -President of the Association of Industrial Supplier Companies of Mexico (APIMEX)-.
