FLEXI ceases operations in San Luis de la Paz

According to industry sources, the closure of FLEXI's plant was due in part to the loss of a manufacturing contract with TIMBERLAND.

Following the shutdown of FLEXI's production unit in San Luis de la Paz, CICEG President Mauricio Battaglia revealed the reasons behind this cessation of activities.

The main factor was the loss of TIMBERLAND as a client and the termination of the contract that linked the two companies. Ninety percent of the production at the San Luis de la Paz factory was tied to orders from the American company.

Another reason was the relocation of two production lines, which were moved to the factory the company owns in San Diego de la Unión, according to Battaglia.

Additionally, the governor of the state, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez, had previously stated that illegal practices related to Chinese footwear imports negatively impacted the Mexican company.
