Consequences of the pandemic in the footwear sector

In mid-May, ASSOCALZATURIFICCI -the Italian association that brings together shoe manufacturers- released the results of a survey carried out among 88 members of the entity, by Confindustria Moda and taking into account the health situation.
Thus, it was determined that orders in the footwear sector had an average retraction of 46.2% and sales fell on average by 38.4%, in the period corresponding to the first quarter of the year.

On the other hand, another report published at the beginning of July showed a contraction of more than 30% in domestic consumption in the first four months of the year, under the variable of value and volume, added to an average decrease of 5.7% in the price, reported the association.
