Through the agreement between ACCAL and ASSOMAC, a new phase of collaboration and modernization begins for Latin American industry.

The parties involved, the Association of Latin American Footwear Chambers (ACCAL) and the Italian Association of Footwear and Tannery Machinery Manufacturers (ASSOMAC), have launched a collaborative strategic plan that includes identifying technological needs, training, technical and financial assistance, and the marketing of machinery, equipment and systems for the footwear, manufactured goods and tanning industries.
For Italian suppliers, this means gaining access to a region that produces approximately 1.5 billion pairs annually, making it the second-largest footwear-producing region in the world and the largest in the Western Hemisphere. For Latin American industries, it represents an opportunity to increase productivity and competitiveness, with possibilities for internationalizing their product offerings.
The agreement establishes a framework for institutional collaboration over the next three years, aimed at promoting joint initiatives in technological development, training, knowledge exchange, business networking, and new investment and commercial cooperation opportunities.
This partnership will make it possible to identify the technological and production needs of Latin American companies, facilitating their connections with Italian suppliers of machinery, technology and industrial solutions.
The objective is to turn institutional cooperation into concrete actions that contribute to the modernization of production processes and strengthen the sector's competitiveness.
As part of SIMAC TANNING TECH, the Italy–Latin America Seminar was held, providing a forum for the exchange of information and knowledge between institutional and business representatives from both regions.
Latin American industry leaders presented the situation of the sector in their respective countries and their projections. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the industry to support the planning of future joint activities.
Italian industry and government officials presented the characteristics of the available technology, while representatives of financial institutions provided information on the various credit options available for purchasing technology.

ACCAL expressed special thanks to ASSOMAC, its president Mauro Bergozza, its general director Agostino Apolito, María Furfaro and Valentina Bardozzo for their trust, hospitality and the important opportunity provided to the Latin American delegation.
The support of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA–ICE) and the IILA – International Italo-Latin American Organization was also highlighted, recognizing their commitment to strengthening institutional, industrial and commercial relations between Italy and Latin America.
ACCAL also thanked the organizers of SIMAC TANNING TECH, the chambers that make up the association, and the business representatives who participated in the activities held during the trade fair.
The Association of Latin American Footwear Chambers (ACCAL) is an organization dedicated to institutional integration, bringing together chambers and representative organizations from the footwear industry and related sectors in 12 Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guatemala.
