Strong growth in footwear exports in 2021
According to figures provided by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association -ABICALÇADOS-, in 2021 foreign sales of footwear totaled 123.6 million pairs, for US$ 900.3 million. Compared to 2020, the variations were positive in 32% and 36.8% respectively.
The United States was the first destination for exports, for 15 million pairs and a value of US$ 228.5 million; followed by Argentina, which bought 13.4 million pairs for US$ 115.2 million; while for France 7.2 million pairs were allocated, valued at US$ 60.2 million.
The performance of 2021, contrasted with that of 2019, showed a growth of 7.3% in quantity and a drop of 7.4% in value.
For Haroldo Ferreira -executive president of the entity-, "this year we should grow another 5% on the basis of 2021".
