Jobs are recovered in the footwear industry

A total of 18.6 thousand jobs were created by the Brazilian footwear sector between January and February 2021. With this figure, 265,900 workers were reached, which, in relation to the same two-month period of the previous year, meant a drop of 6.4%.

“As of March, we must begin to see in the records, the problems generated by the second outbreak of Covid-19 and the consequent opening and closing of physical retail, which represents more than 85% of the total sales of the Brazilian footwear industry”, said Haroldo Ferreira, executive president of ABICALÇADOS.
