Different variables in the international market have favored higher sales of Brazilian footwear.

The total of shipments was for 123.6 million pairs, which represented an increase of 32% in volume, while the amount reached was US $ 900.3 million, 36.8% more than in 2021.

The main destination for Brazilian footwear exports was the United States, with 15 million pairs, worth US $ 228.5 million. The indicators represented a growth of 62.7% in volume and 66% in turnover compared to 2021.

The second most important destination by volume and turnover was Argentina, with the aforementioned data, followed by France with 7.2 million pairs worth US $ 60.2 million.

The executive president of ABICALÇADOS, Haroldo Ferreira, highlighted that the latest indices point to the consolidation of the recovery of Brazilian footwear shoemakers in the international market. "In 2021, exports were the main responsible for the recovery of the activity" underlining that "the change and the increase in shipments to the United States played a fundamental role in this growth". As he said, "the recovery should continue throughout 2022, where we plan to grow more than 5% on the basis of 2021".
