Footwear imports show positive performance
Footwear imports into Brazil reached a volume of 9.8 million pairs in the first three months of 2023, an increase of 11.4% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. In terms of value, the US$ 111.9 million represented a growth of 27.4%, according to data provided by SECEX.
Compared to 2022, the volume of imported footwear reached 25.8 million pairs, showing a 13.7% increase compared to the previous year. Similarly, the value of the businesses grew by 28%, totaling US$ 367 million.
Asian countries remain the main footwear suppliers. Specifically, Vietnam, China and Indonesia accounted for over 80% of the imports, as reported by ABICALÇADOS.
