Employment growth at the start of the year


Increased activity in tanneries has led to new hires of operators.

In the first two months of 2024, employment in the leather industry saw a positive performance, increasing by 2.9% compared to the cumulative figures for 2023, according to data provided by MTP-NOVO CAGED.

In this context, 663 jobs were created in January, while February saw the addition of 216 new positions, bringing the total to 31,332.

Overall, 879 more jobs were generated, primarily in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (254 workers), followed by São Paulo (153) and Paraná (46), according to what was prepared and disseminated by CICB.
