Through ABICALÇADOS' Brazilian Footwear program, carried out in collaboration with APEX, the export support agency, the presentation of the Brazilian industrial delegation took place in Santiago de Chile on July 21 and 22, with very positive results.

In addition to the 8,000 pairs sold on site, orders were placed for 62,600 pairs, bringing the total amount to more than US$ 1.3 million. According to the commercial representatives, participation was highly effective due to the incorporation of new companies and the strong sales volume achieved. The Chile Mission was particularly important given the urgent need to diversify markets, in view of the difficulties Brazilian products face in entering the United States because of the high tariffs imposed by that country.

Vitor Rosa, commercial and development director of BKR/Manchester, stated: “During the mission, our company was able to understand the needs of local consumers, opening space for an appropriate strategy in that market. We have lines that will be very well received in Chile, and I am taking materials to develop products for a local client,” he commented.
