Brazilian footwear gains presence in the United States


​Participation in events in the northern country has made it possible to increase exports to that destination.
​The trade fair circuit in the United States achieved business for US $ 3 million, both at the time and in the future. Thus, Brazilian companies participated in the MAGIC Las Vegas, MAGIC NY, Sourcing at MAGIC, Playtime NY, Atlanta Shoe Market and Dallas Apparel and Accessories Market events.

This last fair was held at the end of last October, where firms from Brazil, such as BOTTERO, CARRANO and SCHUTZ, were present for the first time. The 115 contacts made exceeded US $ 120 thousand in sales at the moment and it is expected to reach another US $ 640 thousand soon.

According to Ruisa Scheffel -Analyst of Commercial Promotion of ABICALÇADOS-, "It was evident that the North American market, in this moment of recovery, is looking for new alternatives for its consumers, and the Brazilian footwear is proving very competitive", she assured.

The initiative was promoted by BRAZILIAN FOOTWEAR, a joint project between APEX-BRASIL and the footwear entity.
