Suppliers object to new project
The Argentine Chamber of Industrial Suppliers of the Footwear Industry (CAIPIC) expressed their disagreement with the new bill for the promotion of the footwear sector.
They considered it to be of little use, not providing any benefits for the supplying industry, and, in general, not promoting national production.
In their opinion, the proposal is not aimed at fulfilling this objective and favors the importation of parts only for the assembly of shoes.
CAIPIC stated that they are working to reverse the content of this bill, with arguments that support the progressive use of components of national origin in the Argentine footwear industry.
Regarding this matter, the suppliers' entity requested their members to complete and send survey forms to quantify the sector's capacity and potential for subsequent presentation to the relevant government authorities.
