Price increases in clothing and footwear
The Argentine Industrial Chamber of Clothing (CIAI) revealed in a report that the sectors CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR had a price increase of 536%, from December 2016 to January 2022, according to INDEC figures.
In that same period, goods in general increased their values by 553%, and even sectors such as medicines and automobiles rose by 688% and 887%, respectively.
The report details that only 49.8% of the value of a garment goes to the value chain of the sector, while the remaining amount is distributed in taxes, credit cards and rentals.
