Imports from Brazil show mixed results


Trade with Brazil showed opposite behaviors during the first quarter of 2026. Shipments of hides and skins reached 200.386 square meters for US$ 1.7 million, with increases of 42.9% in area and 2.9% in value.
Footwear imports totaled 1.5 million pairs for US$ 23.6 million. Compared with the same period in 2025, volume fell by 57.1% and value declined by 61.1%, while the average price per pair stood at US$ 15.37, with a decrease of 9.4%.
SECEX data were released by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (ABICALÇADOS) and the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).
