The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) prepared the Manufacturing Industrial Production Index (IPI). Thus, the technical report details that the manufacturing IPI for the "Footwear and its parts" sector had a positive variation of 1,722.4% in April 2021, compared to the same month last year. In addition, with regard to the first four months, the increase was 82.4%, compared to the same months of 2020. It is to underline that the high rates obtained are compared to April 2020, a month of almost zero activity.
For its part, “Tanning and leather articles, except garments” grew 37.6% in April, but registered a fall of 14.2% in the first four months of the year, according to figures provided by the Secondary Sector Statistics Department and the National Directorate of Statistics and Prices of Production and Trade, published by INDEC.
