Faced with the possibility of restarting production activities by the footwear industry, through an authorization that exempts it for such purpose, the Association of Footwear Industry of Cordoba (CIC Córdoba) made the corresponding presentation to the Province Ministry of Industry and the Emergency Operations Center (COE).
In a note addressed to the COE, the entity asked to consider requests for permission to enable activity in factories, without neglecting the value chain and signing the protocols due health and safety.
Among the arguments, the text mentions that 70% of the plants does not exceed 10 workers; in addition to a certain amount of workforce it performs tasks from home. In the case of larger companies, it is proposed to carry out activities by sectors or shifts.
On the other hand, it points out that logistics is not imperative, since the required inputs are in the factories and public transport would not be necessary to displace staff.
From the Chamber they affirm that, if the delivery of orders is not carried out, the autumn winter 2020 season could be dismissed by the merchants.
In return, the factories would be adjusted to the provincial protocol and the one created by the Argentine Federation of the Footwear and Related Industry (FAICA).
Finally, CIC Córdoba clarifies that, after the evaluation of the companies' requests, both the Ministry of Industry and the Emergency Operations Center will be the bodies in charge of issuing or not the authorization to resume activities.
