Antidumping duties on imported Chinese sneaker kits were removed

Through Resolution 531/2026 issued in April, the Argentine government adopted this measure, which influences footwear production in the country.

As a result, disassembled athletic footwear of Chinese origin is now excluded from paying a minimum import value. The aim is to lower local production costs for brands such as PUMA and TOPPER, and to reduce final prices.

Since 2021, all sneakers imported from China had been required to comply with a minimum FOB value of US$15.70 per pair. With this change, assembly kits used by the main manufacturing plants based in the country are no longer subject to that restriction, allowing a direct reduction in supply costs.
