INSPIRAMAIS: new fashion content within the framework of sustainability

The event of Brazilian suppliers exhibited a qualified proposal of interest for national and international visitors.

A field of creativity and innovation that attracted a large public in search of novelties for manufactures.

The Design, Innovation and Sustainability Show held its 27th edition between January 24th and 25th, at the Events Center of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS), in the city of Porto Alegre/RS.

INSPIRAMAIS had the participation of 150 supplier exhibitors, who presented a volume of more than a thousand supplies, materials, components and accessories, for the footwear, manufactures, costume jewelry, clothing and furniture sectors.

The context in which the fair took place was positive, given the good results that the Brazilian supply industry achieved during the year 2022. In this sense, from the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL), detailed that foreign sales grew by 12% compared to 2021, thus totaling US$ 421.2 million.

Luis Ribas Júnior -International Market Manager of the entity- assured that more than 150 varieties of products were exported, reaching 77 countries. “It was a year that, despite a slowdown in the last two months, was positive. The market should adjust in 2023 and now we need to consolidate the space conquered last year”, he stated.

A proposal based on two concepts

In this edition, the organizers focused on two topics that ran through the entire show: internationalization and sustainability. In addition to innovation, the permanent concept of the event that makes its difference.

On the one hand, 31 invited international buyers were part of the fair, under the Buyer Project, exceeding US$ 11.5 million in business carried out at the moment and future projections. The initiative was promoted by By Brasil Componets, Machinery and Chemicals, a joint program between ASSINTECAL and APEX-BRASIL.

"At INSPIRAMAIS, in addition to the buyers, who came from Latin America, Europe and Asia, we have international journalists from 18 specialized media who will help promote the image of our products in their respective countries", reported Gerson Berwanger -president of ASSINTECAL-.

Strong emphasis was placed on sustainability, which was addressed at the fair beyond the discursive, and included in business and practice. This concept was taken as a pillar at an environmental, social, economic and cultural level.

The exhibition offer of sustainable products was three times higher, according to Silvana Dilly -superintendent of the supplier association-, assuring that “what we saw here, at INSPIRAMAIS, was the confirmation of a growing concern in the industry with environmental responsibility. Buyers, mainly foreigners, were very surprised with what they saw here”.

Caring for the environment was also part of the parallel programming, with a conference that brought together the vice president of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Argentina -Daniel Risafi-; the director of Marketing and Business Development of the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE) -Imanol Martínez Gómez-; and on behalf of Mexico, the president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG) -Alfredo Padilla Villalpando-.

In July, INSPIRAMAIS will present Homo Faber

The promoters of the fair have already announced the date of the next edition, which will take place between Tuesday 11th, and Wednesday 12th July 2023, in the same exhibition center.

The next study that will be made available to visitors and exhibitors will be Homo Faber. The concept will be based on the explanation of the construction of the consumption process and the generation of value, with keywords such as poetry, geometry and crafts.

“After the themes Body, Earth and Primal, we present Homo Faber, a study that will describe how the process of consumption and value generation is built, always with the assertiveness of the Pyramid methodology, which is based on conceptual creation, going through development with companies until reaching the market”, concluded Silvana Dilly.
