Due to social upheaval and pandemic, fair in Colombia postponed

It was originally planned live for June 2021.

An important sectoral meeting point in the Andean region that once again changes its date of realization.

According to statements made by the president of ACICAM, the association of leather, footwear and manufactures of Colombia, IFLS+EICI, the event that brings together manufacturers of footwear and manufactures, and suppliers of materials, components and technology, which was scheduled for June 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2021, in person at the Corferias premises in Bogotá, was moved to August.

Jorge Andrés Zuluaga pointed out that the decision to postpone the fair was due to the generalized situation of social upheaval in the country and the persistence of the coronavirus health crisis. "Our intention is to allow all participants to attend the event without inconvenience and safely", said the leader, "so we have decided to choose another date that is presumably more propitious".

Thus, the realization of IFLS+EICI in person will take place on August 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, 2021.

It is estimated that it will bring together more than 200 exhibitors -footwear manufacturers and industry suppliers- from Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Bucaramanga, Cúcuta and other parts of the country, in addition to the presence of international companies. Approximately 4,000 local and foreign buyers are expected to visit.

From the fair organization, the pertinent protocols are being elaborated, with the corresponding biosecurity measures, in order to provide participants with maximum security and tranquility. The need to hold the fair to boost the recovery of the leather and manufactures industry, which is currently going through a difficult time, was also underlined.
