Upcoming EXPOCAIPIC raises suppliers’ expectations for October

Suppliers hope the Fall-Winter 2027 proposals will help boost the manufacturing sector

Argentine suppliers will once again showcase their latest developments for the upcoming season at the National University of La Matanza.

Although difficulties persist throughout the leather-footwear-manufacturing supply chain as a result of the widespread decline in consumption and sales, Argentine suppliers remain hopeful that necessary changes will improve the country’s economic conditions and help restore activity.

Many companies are undergoing restructuring and adaptation processes in response to the new scenario, with varying results, while seeking to remain in a sector that has historically played an important role in Argentina’s manufacturing industry.

In this context, trade fairs and exhibitions have been among the main meeting and networking points for the different players in the industry, helping to strengthen activity and overcome difficult circumstances.

Positive edition

Following the latest edition of EXPOCAIPIC, held in May 2026 at the Salón de las Américas of the National University of La Matanza in San Justo, the organizing entity CAIPIC —the Argentine Chamber of Industrial Suppliers to the Footwear Industry— decided to hold a new edition on October 20, 21 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the same venue.

The decision was driven by the strong visitor turnout and lower participation costs for exhibitors, in addition to the business generated during the event.

Although the fair initially began amid doubts and uncertainty regarding its development, it generated numerous contacts between suppliers and manufacturers, improving sentiment and creating enthusiasm among participants. Visitor numbers exceeded the organizers’ expectations.

Overall, the fair concluded with positive results for exhibitors and visitors despite the difficult circumstances currently affecting the sector.

Preparations for the next edition

With strong demand for stands at the upcoming edition, registrations remain open for the different available spaces.

Suppliers of leather and hides, materials and components, accessories and technology will once again participate. The offer will focus on the Fall-Winter 2027 season, providing visitors with information on the latest fashion trends for footwear and leather goods.

At this key meeting for the development of new collections, expectations among exhibitors, suppliers and manufacturers are moving within a delicate balance between tactical resilience and operational caution.

Participating exhibitors will represent leading brands and products from Argentina’s supplier industry.

The venue and its advantages

The experience of the previous edition led organizers to choose the same venue once again: the National University of La Matanza.

Several factors contributed to the decision, including its strategic location in a well-known footwear manufacturing area of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), with easy access and approximately 25 kilometers from the City of Buenos Aires and Aeroparque Airport.

In addition, the university campus provides the infrastructure required for the event to operate comfortably and efficiently, including free controlled parking areas, restaurants, cafés, green spaces and other circulation areas.

For exhibitors, this alternative proved considerably more convenient and accessible in terms of participation costs compared with other venues located within the City of Buenos Aires.

Outlook for the business environment and industry dynamics

The event will take place within an industrial environment characterized by pressure on production costs, declining domestic consumption and the impact of increased imports or unfair competition.

Demand is expected to focus on smaller orders, “just-in-time” replenishment and a more detailed assessment of cost-benefit ratios in order to avoid excess inventories of supplies.

As occurred during the previous edition in May, when attendance exceeded initial expectations despite the prevailing uncertainty, industrial companies are expected to visit the fair not only to close immediate transactions, but also to seek alternative materials and efficiency solutions throughout the value chain.
