EXPOCAIPIC: essential for the recovery of the footwear sector

The argentine supplier fair was revalued in the face of a new stage of growth.

EXPOCAIPIC was once again a benchmark for fashion and trends for the region's industry.

On Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th May 2022, a new edition of the traditional exhibition of Argentine suppliers of the footwear and manufactures industry was held, where the latest novelties in leather, materials, components and accessories for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2022/23 season were exhibited. Technology also occupied a prominent space, with an exhibition of its own machines and production systems, plus the presence of international brands, mostly European and Asian, led by local representatives.

With a call that exceeded 2,200 visitors, of which 95% were local and the rest from neighboring countries such as Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Chile, organizers and exhibitors highlighted the high qualification and decision-making power of the attendees, who allowed for greater business effectiveness.

Among the opinions collected, from exhibitors and visitors, there was agreement in qualifying the exhibition proposal as positive in terms of fashion, showing good projections for future sales.

The fair took place at a particular time, where the Argentine footwear industry shows sustained growth, towards recovery after the period of health crisis.

Although difficulties of their own persist derived from the strict control of foreign exchange, imposed by the government, which limits imports of basic supplies for production, within a strong internal inflationary process, added to the global situation also with price increases and shortages of supplies, the industry maintains a good level of activity.

Added to this context is the low availability of labor, largely lost during the pandemic, which conspires against the entrepreneurial will to achieve higher productivity rates.
