One of the largest Brazilian footwear manufacturers, recognized for having produced for major international sports brands -PUMA, ADIDAS, ASICS, REEBOK, LE COQ SPORTIF, etc.- and currently for UNDER ARMOUR and MIZUNO, in addition to its own brand OLYMPIKUS, announced that it will supply its factories with wind energy from 2022.
Through a contract signed with the Casa dos Ventos company specialized in the generation of alternative energies, its manufacturing plants in Horizonte in Ceará and Itapetinga in Bahia, with 15 thousand workers, will be supplied by 7 megawatts of wind origin, which will prevent the release of 15 thousand tons of CO2 in the atmosphere, equivalent to the planting of 67 thousand trees.
The Rio do Vento park, in Rio Grande do Norte, will be one of the largest wind energy complexes in the world.
