PRIMARK enters the Mexican market

A major apparel retailer plans to expand its presence in Latin America.

The Irish affordable fashion retail chain recently announced a strategic partnership with El Puerto de Liverpool, one of Mexico's largest and most important retail and department store companies.

Locations, store openings and expansion plans have not yet been defined. As a result, no date has been set for the opening of the first store, nor have the cities where operations will begin been announced.

PRIMARK operates 500 stores across 19 markets, selling apparel, footwear and accessories through a business model that the company itself describes as centered on physical stores. Although it also maintains a digital presence, its business model differs from that of ZARA and H&M, which have developed online shopping services with home delivery and in-store pickup.

The European company has selected Mexico as its initial entry point into Latin America.
