JOHN FOOS stopped manufacturing in the country

The emblematic Argentine sneaker brand for the youth segment decided to end its local production and focus on imports from Asian countries. The measure was taken due to the current conditions of the local market, where consumer spending continues to decline and production bears a high tax burden. For this reason, the company carried out an internal restructuring to adapt its operation and ensure the long-term sustainability of the business.
In 2021, the brand produced 3,000 pairs per day, with a workforce of 400 operators, a number that has now been reduced to 50 people.
The case once again brought into discussion the impact of economic opening on national industry.
