ARGENTINA. World Cup-inspired sneakers from Córdoba gain popularity


A product that responds to a commercial strategy linked to the football World Cup.

With a strong sense of timing, a footwear factory from San Vicente, Córdoba, owned by the Alercia family, launched its exclusive sneakers with their own identity during the pre-World Cup football season. The designs incorporate the colors of the Argentine flag -light blue and white- along with other representative icons, such as the embroidered sun and the three stars of the world champion titles won in 1978, 1986 and 2022.

The model is a classic retro running sneaker, with an injected TR wedge sole and a traditional upper that combines light blue and white.

According to one of the company’s directors, Giuliano Alercia, “this began with an idea from my father, when we thought about how to bring the World Cup into the product. That is how this sneaker emerged, with growing demand, which allowed us to sustain sales at a time when local consumption has weakened”.

Through social media and online inquiries, the products are sold both retail and wholesale throughout the country, “and we were surprised by the response they had abroad, from countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain and the United States, where we continue to receive orders”.
